ARC Projects
ARC Projects has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Service Excellence in The Australian Business Awards 2024. The Australian Business Award for Service Excellence [CSX] recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate leadership and commitment to customer service excellence.
ARC Projects is a leading privately owned building and restoration company at the forefront of business and service excellence in the insurance industry for over a decade. With a comprehensive suite of services encompassing make safes, restoration, and construction, ARC Projects offers expertise crucial for addressing various aspects of building insurance repair claims. With a holistic approach to project management and services encompassing investigative reporting, design management, and emergency facility management, ARC stands out for its technical prowess and client-centric approach. Driven by strong family values and a commitment to excellence, ARC Projects has grown consistently, boasting a dedicated team of over 170 professionals and a vast network of subcontractors. Its geographic footprint spans Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, and New Zealand, reflecting its commitment to exceptional service delivery.
The company’s commitment to excellence is exemplified by its recent initiative, the Build Clean Lead Green (BCLG) sustainability strategy, developed in 2023. Motivated by client expectations, staff commitment to ethical practices, and the company’s pioneering spirit, ARC embarked on developing a sustainability initiative. ARC Projects aims to address environmental impacts in construction and set industry standards by advocating sustainable practices through commitment and transparency in its strategy and operations.
With the full support of the directors, a Sustainability Leadership Team (SLT) was formed in February 2023, drawing representation from various departments throughout the organisation. The SLT adopted a social learning approach, emphasising observation, modelling, and an iterative process to craft the sustainability strategy collaboratively. ARC identified 20 key actionable items categorised into three pillars: waste management, fleet management, and energy efficiency and optimisation. These pillars align with ARC’s core values of accountability, responsibility, and commitment to the planet. Hero Projects such as the ARC Heart Initiative and Culture Change and Education exemplify ARC’s dedication to community outreach and staff training, respectively. With a robust strategic action plan and a comprehensive sustainability roadmap to guide its implementation, ARC Projects is poised to achieve its sustainability objectives and lead by example in promoting responsible and competitive practices within the industry.
The Sustainability Strategy implemented by ARC Projects has yielded significant tangible and intangible benefits, marking a successful journey of just seven months. Tangible outcomes include the establishment of successful recycling systems in multiple ARC Project offices, particularly notable in the Gold Coast Nerang headquarters, and a fruitful partnership with Brownies Bottle-o, which ultimately benefits children and young adults with disabilities. Furthermore, impressive waste recycling rates, such as 78% on the 515 Olsen Avenue commercial project, underscore the strategy’s effectiveness in promoting environmental sustainability. Intangible benefits, exemplified by BCLG staff training events across various locations, have fostered a profound cultural shift within ARC Projects and the industry at large. These events united staff, eliciting full engagement and contributing to a collaborative and sustainable organisational culture.
Looking forward, ARC Projects remains committed to completing ongoing initiatives, such as the ARC Heart Project and Plant a Tree Day, to mark the conclusion of the strategy’s first year. The organisation’s role as a benchmark for sustainability initiatives in the industry is increasingly recognised by clients, with the Sustainability Leadership Team poised to share valuable insights and resources to enable broader industry transformation. Ultimately, ARC Projects’ sustainability efforts drive transformative change, enhance stakeholder relationships, foster staff engagement, and leave a lasting impact on the industry’s sustainability landscape.
